1973 viva
I started repairing with the rear inner sills and front lower bulkhead which are the common areas on these cars along with the main chassis rails but they where good. The paintwork was in good condition(not the best paint job but looked ok after a good clean and polish). It needed the fuel pump diaphram replacing and the carburettor stripping and cleaning to get the car running (full of rust and crap from fuel tank) so i put in a sedimenter filter to catch the crap (i had to empty it every 3-4 days for the first 6 weeks of using the car then every 2 weeks so was obviously clearing it out). I managed to find a brand new headlamp on ebay to replace one that had almost rusted away just about only glass left. The brakes where completly shot and had to be completly stripped cleaned and rebuilt. The interior carpet had disintegrated to practily nothing so i bought a piece of nice thick carpet from a friend in carpet trade and cut and chopped to finally get it in but looks great(nice and comfy too i didnt want wear my shoes). The seats and the rest of the interior just wanted a good clean and came up nice. I had the usual problems on these with bad connections on the rear light connections(bad design flaw).
Otherwise the car was in good condition and drove really well once i done all the work and i enjoyed running it round for about three months.
I was very suprised to find that their was'nt as much interest in the car when i came to sell it as i thought there would have been i think it was probably down to it not being road tax exempt.
