This is an MG B roadster i took on in 1998 and had already been stripped back to a bear shell and some of the panels cut away.
I was working in a garage in Leeds when i took this MG B roadster on. The owner of the garage was diagnosed with cancer and had to close garage down so i decided to finish the car for the owner which took me around three years due to other commitments.
As i said the car was stripped before i even started at the garage and when i got it all i got was half a body shell, rear axle, front subframe and boxes full of bits most of which was scrap. I spent months rebuilding shell and pretty much replaced everything from the waistline down i think the only piece connecting the front and the rear was the gearbox tunnel.
What a load of fun this was to rebuild i had to get the doors skinned and ready before i could do anything else to ensure the gaps would be right and then fitted in place and brace the body up so i could weld in new inner, diaphram and outer sills then new castle rails. The rear lower quarter panels where fitted, rear x member and rear panel, new floor pans, new rear chassis sections and outriggers. By the time i had done it would probably worked out better to have bought a heritage shell( i suppose you live and learn).
I then painted in original british racing green which always looks great especially on these cars. The interior was replaced with new black leather with white piping and new carpets.
The chrome was all replaced with new.
The new wiring loom took some getting my head round as all the info in the manuals was different but i got there in the end. So by the time i finished it was almost a new car.
These are the only pictures i have of this project and i have had to take pictures of stills to upload them.
Just found some more pics of the MG B roadster i didnt even now existed (well my mate found them at his house) so i thought i would put them on as their not bad pictures and they where taken just as i was finishing the car.
